Apparently Shibata is taking time away from AEW and ROH due to urgent personal matters in Japan.
I suppose that explains the angle that closed Rampage.

So how does the whole “Eddie’s belts” thing work? If anyone beats him do they get his belts…or is it only the winner of the tourney who does? I’m a little confused.
The belts are the prize for the winner of the tournament. For the moment Eddie is still the holder of both belts for as long as he’s not eliminated from the tournament.
Should Eddie either:
A) Not get enough points to proceed to the finals
B) Go to the finals and lose…then he will lose both titles and they will go to the winner. No title changes will occur just due to Eddie getting pinned during the tournament unless it’s that final tournament match.
I think they clarified the day after the tournament was announced in a tweet or something since a lot of people thought the belts were being defended by Eddie in every match he was gonna have in the tournament lol. From what I’ve seen however the CC does not follow the G1 tradition in where if someone does beat a champ, they get a future title shot for it. Was never mentioned but I felt the need to mention it anyway lol.
I guess that means they just go to the tourney winner.
