With only a few weeks left in the year (and we can all expect some of us may not be around as much during that time), now seems as good a time as any to reflect on the year and all that we’ve seen so far!
So with that said:
Matches, wrestlers, companies, what really stood out for you during 2023? What was your highest of highs, and lowest of lows. Did any wrestler go above and beyond your expectations? Did any big match you were waiting for end up being a huge let down? What company’s booking did you like and hate the most during the year? Let us know what you think of how everything has gone down below!
I’m gonna ignore lows cos frankly there is enough negativity in the IWC as it is. I also feel the answer is obvious.
For highs, a few things stand out, but the main thing is being able to finally get back to going to shows.
Since I was a kid I’ve wanted to go the Wrestlemania, but have never been able to afford it (transatlantic travel, hotels, tickets, etc etc etc). For a wrestlemania-level show to happen not just in the UK but at Wembley was absolutely insane, and while huge arena shows are not my favourite thing, All In was a great day.
I’ve also been able to get back to regularly attending North shows, I haven’t been since the pandemic, and it’s great to be introduced to a whole new generation of britwres. Leon Slater in particular is incredible, and he’s going to blow people away in TNA next year. I couldn’t be happier for the lad.
