So trying to convince myself that I can justify 40 bucks for Sling if it is for both AEW and Impact.

But… Impact has more or less always been the C show. Even when it was just WWE. And as much as I loved the AJ/Christian/Daniels/Samoa Joe peak… that was still late stage WCW of “Look, there is usually one or two really good matches a week and… yeah”

So is it “worth” being an Impact fan in 2023? Or is it still “Most of the PPVs are great. Maybe watch the highlights of the weekly show”

Thanks

I’ve been watching Impact since Kenny Omega’s run and I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s not perfect, but I’d say it’s a great middle ground between WWE and AEW. The wrestling is top-notch, the women’s division is booked well, and Scott D’amore should at least be mentioned in booker of the year discussions (I’m annoyed that he isn’t).

But 40 bucks seems steep if you only care about AEW and Impact. I don’t know if AEW has any digital deals but I know you can get Impact for something like a buck a month on YouTube. That gives you access to all of their non-PPV shows. That price may have changed since I last checked but if it has gone up I don’t think it’s by much.

Overall, Impact has been really solid. And with the production changes coming it’s only going to get better. This week’s card isn’t their best…but next week is Bound for Glory. If I were you I’d find a way to watch that and see if it’s up your alley or not (the BfG card is shaping up to be really fun. Ospreay vs. Speedball alone might be worth the price).
