I wasn’t familiar with their stuff prior to AEW and this gimmick, coupled with the “Cutler as Meltzer” gimmick, is hitting all the right notes for me. I know it’s very early into things, but still, to long-time fans of Matthew and Nicholas: is this their best work? If not, what is?

And I just want to add that I think they’re going to channel Tony Khan and start awkwardly hugging people soon. Matthew did the finger gun on Rampage which I’m pretty sure is a Tony gesture. Next up: weird hugs.

Not sure if I’d go with best (but tbh I’m also not sure what I would say their best is.) I am enjoying the change however.

I think the whole arc with Hangman and Kenny, probably an epic storyline getting a bit lost to history now, is up there with some of their best work in their TV age - i’ve not seen much of their indy, NJPW or Impact runs so can’t comment beyond that.

I’d say this is better for the Bucks themselves than the Hangman and Kenny story. Mainly because that was more Hangman and Kenny than the Bucks.

I feel the same. The Bucks were secondary characters in that story whereas they seem like the main characters in this one.

Nah I think they were main characters; the story revolved around Hanger & Kenny for sure - but remember all the early part of that was about them & Hangman. And his initial beef was about the Bucks not coming out to support him, the problem with Kenny really began later when the shenanigans with FTR began.
