Most of the occupational gimmicks from late 80’s/early 90’s WWF were pretty shit. Though I’ll admit, some of them were at least amusing. You missed the point, Vince. Dusty was the son of a plumber.
I know pro wrestling started off carny af but I still find it funny that the 80s-90s settled on 'What would happen if a garbage man, a repossession agent, a dentist, a nuclear test accident and a barber on coke fought?"

Sci-Fi, now SyFy, requested WWE incorporate something Sci-Fi into ECW when they got the rights to it. WWE introduced The Zombie, which lasted like one show and the channel dropped the request because they never tried again.
That was definitely one of the promos of all time.
I watched that episode as it aired. All hope went out the window within 15 mins of the first broadcast. It was so goddamned bad.

Beaver Cleavage.
Take an established mid-card tag team wrestler, and stick him in a solo run with a Leave it to Beaver-themed gimmick with huge overtones of incest which made no sense, was…ew…and was 30 years too late to be relevant to a small portion of the audience watching the show.
Vince was really into incest even wanting to do an angle with his daughter carrying his baby he was maybe before his time based on porn trends, but I digress. Sick fucks are sick fucks is all I can gather, maybe it’s something wrong with billionaires, because Orange Jesus, sorry if some of you like him, seems to have a thing for his daughter.

I always found the Eugene gimmick to be in bad taste, regardless of whatever post-hoc justifications were created to defend it. See also Festus (although punting a fake baby is hilarious).
The Forgotten Sons was also just bad, and just came across as super American and badly written. I think there are legs in a disenfranchised ex-military type character that could challenge Murica’s faux patriotism and performative veneration of The Troops, but that wasn’t it.
All I can remember of Hidenrich is that he raped Michael Cole, so, also that.
The Forgotten Sons were the worst thing about one of the best eras of NXT. The only reason I remember them is because of the “We forgot you” chants. At least that was funny. On a relate note, Fuck da police. If you know, you know.
