It brings me joy that the Saudi ple is just slang for dick and balls.
I wonder who chose that.
I’m pretty sure the Saudi government had creative and branding input on those early shows in SA. A lot of those early shows just reeked of someone who doesn’t really know what they’re doing at the helm, but nobody wants to tell them no.
“Oooh, let’s do a Royal Rumble, but even bigger! And we’ll call it the Greatest Royal Rumble!”
“Let’s call the next show Crown Jewel! That’s a name that’s just oozing with prestige! And we’ll hold a tournament to determine the Best In The World!”
“How about we promote the next show as being as good as, or better than, Wrestlemania?”
