File stabber is a good name. :)
Looking for an alternative to reddit
File stabber is a good name. :)
People should be talking about void. Such bullshit. :p
Yeah it just works now. Sometimes I miss the days where we had to troubleshoot sound drivers, because it made us learn so much. Even if we didn’t manage to fix the problem, we learned about how sound works in Linux.
Mint is a really good choice actually. Glad you didn’t pick Ubuntu. :)
We are using an AMI on aws for Ubuntu right now. We need to stick to Ubuntu also since our product is tested on that distribution and so on. What about hardened Ubuntus?
At my job we are looking to use a hardened ubuntu image but not sure what to pick. Got any recommendations?
I don’t know, I think it’s quite buggy using a tiling window manager. App dialog window sometimes end up the size of applications. But with a lot of config, I guess you can get a smooth system.
I think you are still learning… What you say doesn’t make sense, so I think you may have misunderstood what happened.
Usually you upgrade everything though, not just sec patches. And it’s a risk that something stops working, and nobody wants to spend time on that…
I work at a medium size company with hundreds of Linux servers and none of them get updated. Because it’s more important that they keep running as they are than to have the latest updates. I bet this is very common for most companies.
I have memories of watching pictures back then being transfered by modem. It was one pixel row at a time, being rendered at approximately reading speed. So as a teenager being into hot celebrity girls, I got to watch the image being unveiled during about 3 minutes of watching those pixels appear left to right, one pixel row at a time.
It was cool :)
Shit, guess if I stuck with windows all those years ago, I would have a personality like yours…
Sounds like I made the right choice!
Critical thinking seems to be a thing of the past… Maybe it’s because they feel like we are on the end stretch of society anyway, may as well enjoy the days left.
I use Asus routers, they have good hardware. But then I install Fresh Tomato on them to give them full professional routing capabilities. It’s amazing what’s included in that, including vlan support, dns masquerade support etc etc.
People are dumb here, they buy apple.
"Hey look at my new iPhone that costs 20000 sek and can’t do anything important better than the last five previous iPhones "
But it’s really fast at idling in people’s pockets.
I admit the MacBook air has a nice cpu, it stays cool. But most people don’t use anywhere near what the cpu is capable of.
Didn’t know that, thanks for clarification!
Then I suggest two piholes. :)
Yeah this is the next best option, but a secondary pihole is the best, so you still get the dns blocking while the first one is down.
You listed cloudflare now (1.1.1.1) but I prefer https://www.quad9.net/ for the privacy and security.
Nvidia has a closed source driver. Wayland tries to support it but Nvidia keeps changing how the driver works every week. So it’s impossible to deliver quality with Nvidia shit.
People said it back then too. The ad and tracking industry will always invade more and more of our privacy. When will there be enough tracking to make them stop and be happy? Never. Never is the only answer.
