I hate discord as much as anyone else but it’s where most people are already going to have an account. People don’t want to create brand new accounts to ask a single question. That question will just not get asked, The question could be asked on Reddit which may or may not end in a good result. It could take hours, weeks or even days. Discord is already there, and if a discord community is large enough you may get a fast and knowledgeable response. I can see why people like discord, I just don’t see any better alternatives or something that is as convenient.
Surprisingly, I just got an email saying that the price for Yearly Nest subscription is going up so all the more reason to switch.
It’s been years since I owned a tablet. I felt that they were redundant because I have a phone and a desktop and a laptop and a Chromebook.
I switched to Linux last year so I’m doing my part
I used to think those things were cool… 20 years ago.
Thanks for the tip. I haven’t ran into any issues so far, but I’ll keep that in mind.
It is 21H2. Plus I have no reason to ever upgrade. Windows 10 is better than Windows 11 IMHO. The specific reason I use LTSC is because it doesn’t come with all the bloat that a normal install comes with.
I have a laptop that I run Windows 10 LTSC for the rare occasion I need Windows for something.
GE has garbage company for a very long time. It’s a shell of its former self. If I’m paying for a product I am going to do whatever I want with it because it’s my money. And if a company has a problem with that, it sounds like the company needs to fix it on their end. If it’s possible to create a plugin that cost your company millions of dollars is obviously you’re not running your company properly.
No I just mean Wi-Fi. I do have existing doorbell wires that I can hook up to it for power. I’d probably prefer not having a battery just so I don’t have to worry about charging it ever.
I’m all too familiar with spending countless hours trying to get things to work so that shouldn’t be a problem.
I saw the thumbnail and thought the image was of a transistor.
I suppose I forgot to mention that I would like a video doorbell
All my Wi-Fi just works on any machine I have Linux on. But yeah years ago this was not the case.
Mint Debian Edition FTW
Why are we installing Whatsapp to begin with?
I was running Linux Mint until the other day when I found out Linux Mint Debian Edition existed so I installed that. I’m a recent Linux convert and I can safely say that Lemmy might have partially been the reason. I’ve been loving it so far.
I don’t try convert anyone. I just try to let people know they can get away from their abusers.
