In Polish, kernel directly translates to “testicle”. So it basically says that the testicle panicked.

You should use password managers. It doesn’t matter where you get your “key” from. Worried about cloud, there is always keepass.
Yeah, that’s already iffy, never do personal stuff on work computer and vice versea.
If your company finds out (and they will) you’ll get fired so fast you wouldn’t even know what hit you. Never fuck around with licenses when they are provided to you by an employer. Some formats have metadata that gets saved, some companies do audits etc.
The issue here is if you are on a forum about a specific piece of software and are an active user, then anyone asking for alternatives seem like they are personally attacking you and your choices. At least to those people that replied above.
So then your base floor floods
That’s not a basement problem, that’s a location problem. Look for houses that are higher up than other houses, the water will flow down the hill and flood the people who didn’t do that.
Ah I understand. They don’t get paid (but still do) so they can be shitty to people, opinionated about their software and overall toxic.
To be fair there are countries with a shitload of guns where this doesn’t happen. This is mostly US being a shithole.
To anyone downvoting the comment above, you can use windows indefinitely without a key. The only thing that happens is you get some text on the screen (that sometimes goes away for no reason) and you can’t change the background. They don’t give two f’s. They could easily block keys / stop them from working if misused, but they don’t care. Same reason why every laptop comes with a license. They put it there because it costs them nothing. They’d rather have market share, than get money upfront. They probably make bank on other things (i.e. the analytics, ads, etc)
There is no market for doing this at all, why would any company worth their salt do it?
When it actually backfires. Right now, no company was actually hurt by doing stuff like this - quite the opposite, they get a boost since they close down their ecosystem further forcing people to buy their stuff.
There will be “boycotts” but in reality it will blow over in two to four weeks, with people forgetting “an outrage” that didn’t reach 99% of their target users at all.
A day on wikipedia doesn’t get you “installed linux and is actively using it at work” level of knowledge. For cars, the better analogy would be “I can replace the transmission in my car”. Everyone knows how “computers work”. Not a lot of people know how to install a different OS.
The easy solution for that is a kvm switch. You have two pcs, and switch between them with a button press, keeping the same mouse, keyboard and monitor.
Best use is for personal PC and work laptop, but if you specifically want to switch between linux and windows pcs, then it should be fine if you use that.
Except for the fact, that you do that to plenty of other disciplines of life. It is simply that some people need a computer to work, they don’t need one as a hobby. They don’t want to “learn a new thing” they want their machine to output some calculations in excel. Same as you don’t learn woodworking when ordering a table from Ikea, or learning medicine when going to a checkup.
There is a way to say all of that and not be a dick about it. Angry responses are seldom needed.
If only everyone in the world would work in their spare time, we’d have flying cars. Let’s go for 7x10hrs a week, it’ll be great.
Yes, it does. It’s panika jądra which translates to panic of the testicle.
