With the rise of inexpensive 3d printers, I wonder if milling would be a cheaper option.
We had a PCB mill at the university I went to, a “few” years ago.
This is apparently what the front looks like.
It looks like a wire wrapped prototype board of some kind, impossible to tell the purpose from that photo alone though.
How is he controversial? the only negative thing I’ve seen about FUTO is the proprietary license grayjay is under.
the large ecosystem of commercial crap which has tainted by association the open source core of it
Isn’t the main shop plugin (woocommerce) heavily infested with that though?
I’ve noticed recently it seems like journos have started deliberately subverting Betteridge’s Law.
Yeah, this is pretty much what I gathered.
As an EE I love the theoretical elegance of using the wires that are already there for communication, but the practical implementation seems to be an issue.
I still don’t understand what theoretical advantage it has over x10 for things that are plugged in. (In practical terms the HA support for X10 was apparently pretty bad last time I looked)
It’s still a pretty good sign IMO. Brands won’t usually distance themselves from their parent companies unless they have a good reason to.
Now we just need a locally hosted voice assistant with “computer” as the wake word.
How does making collections public work if you’re self hosting?
AGPL + CLA would potentially be an option? Then you can sell licenses to those who want to make proprietary modifications. It seems to work for other projects.
PHP will outlive us all.
Current prices for the 8gb pi5 are around £80 which is about $100, and it won’t ship until some-when next year.
I assume this bot is for mastodon users or something?
Still think you should have kept the original name for the lulz
Second hand thin clients (like the dell wyse already mentioned) are often cheap and easy to use https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/
You’re not the boss of me
Seems to just be hosting issues https://www.reddit.com/r/Funkwhale/comments/1dlrsqn/funkwhaleaudio_down/
