I never liked the technology of snap. I’m pretty broke and technically could waste money on a new PC but I rather not. So all my laptops and PCs have been stuff I’ve found in the trash or on the 2nd hand market for under $100. Snap has always ran much slower on older systems that I use. And by much slower I mean MUCH slower. Flatpaks also run slower than native packaging but at least it’s usable.

Exactly. I did have to install mesa-freeworld drivers to get steamvr to work but ever since it’s been smooth sailing

Everything is just off with Nvidia. Steam and discord flash black but the games work. Problem is when something does go wrong it’s a headache

I tried to use fedora server or was it cloud? Idk but I tried fedora as a server and wanted to set up a VM but got confused. Storage pools scared me away. Will try to learn it when I have the time

In my opinion not at all. Linux started as a project from a nerd and nerds around the world joined in. I know now a day’s a lot of companies contribute but what they contribute is open for the nerds to use. Unlike the console wars where it’s company vs company with fanboys picking sides.

Now it’s now neck beards vs industry and that’s way more interesting. I’m obviously picking the nerd/neck beard side cause fuck the big corp
