If it required waiting for apps to provide this integration you would be waiting 10 years for it to mature. There would logically be some benefit to looking at the window before compositing + saving text from none visible windows and avoiding recapturing content which hadn’t changed.
If this was actually an open source app with strong privacy settings that you could opt into it might be useful.
This often means unofficial builds that aren’t from the developer that sometimes have sandbox specific issues the devs didn’t contemplate because they don’t actually do flatpaks. If someday the random bob who is neither the original developer nor some trusted individual connected to the distro is hacked they may push out a malware enabled update that pwns all the people who automatically update in short order. This doesn’t seem like a security increasing feature.

This is complicated. Firstly outside of Wayland Nvidia works pretty great and has worked great for me 21 years on the other hand the amount spent is kinda irrelevant using different hardware is often actually the correct advice. Often though the logical move is use Windows on your effectively Windows only laptop and if you want to run Linux buy something compatible next go round.

I’m sitting here on a modern computer. It is connected to 2 4K monitors and a 1080p monitor. Everything is scaled perfectly despite the 2 screens being very different DPI. There are applications to perform all the normal bog standard operations from managing files to watching movies not to mention apps for creating applications, making movies, editing photos, making music, playing tens of thousands of games The full range of software that is available for Linux runs under X less a microscopic number of items literally designed to replace pre-existing X software for instance sway to replace i3 or a foot a terminal emulator for wayland.
X works on stable slower moving distros where wayland presents a more buggy and less feature complete experience because basic functionality requires recently released updates whereas stable distros may be a year or more behind.
X works well on Nvidia hardware which represents over 80% of discrete cards and is literally the only professional GPU anyone uses for any usage other than just driving displays.
What “typical uses” do you imagine aren’t covered? The problem with wayland proponents is not their enthusiasm its the fact that they lie so much.

It’s feature complete and receiving security updates as recently as 30 days ago and is liable to receive them as long as Canonical and Red Hat have supported customers using this or around 10 years from Ubuntu 22.04 and RHEL 9.

I have a 1080. The drivers are great under X. I’ve been using nvidia hardware since 2003. Driver support has always been pretty good.
You misremember. Back in 2010 the command was optirun. Although more than one solution exists under the hood user friendly distros (not arch) generally had you right click on the game in your menu and select something like run with nvidia. Throughout the last like 14 years the 2 dominant things were optirun foo and prime-run foo
How about I just continue to use X which will be getting security updates for the next decade and was feature complete many many years prior.

The app store is an attempt at an Apple style money grab except the money grab only exists on the apple side because its the only way to get apps on the machine and MS never got much out its store in comparison.
